The morning mist curled gently over Tea Blossom Grove, turning every petal into a tiny pearl. Adeline Teawing hummed as she poured warm rose‑petal tea into her favourite porcelain cup. Her circular wings glowed like halos, scattering soft rings of light across the flowers. Today was special.
She was hosting her very first Proper Tea Party.
Pixie Tartanwing had promised music. Ella was bringing honey biscuits. Chiara… well, Chiara was bringing herself, which meant anything could happen. Adeline twirled with excitement — and only spilled one drop of tea, which she considered a personal triumph. Just as she placed the last tiny teacup on the moss‑covered table, a soft squeak sounded from the bushes.
A familiar squeak. Adeline gasped. “A Marsh Miffin!”
The tiny blue creature — the very same one Flo and Sonny had rescued days before — hopped into the clearing, whiskers trembling with hope. It carried a single marsh‑flower in its mouth.

“Oh! You want to join the tea party?” Adeline knelt, her Joy Ripple warming the air. “Of course you can!”
The Miffin squeaked again… then darted away. Adeline blinked. “Wait—where are you going?”
Moments later, it returned — dragging behind it a whole parade of Marsh Miffins. Big ones, tiny ones, fluffy ones, stripey ones. A dozen bright blue faces stared at her expectantly.
Adeline clapped her hands. “A tea party for everyone!”

Pixie arrived just in time, violin tucked under her arm. She froze. “Adeline… did you invite the entire marsh?”
“Not on purpose,” Adeline said cheerfully. “But they came anyway.”
Pixie laughed and began to play a gentle tune. Her tartan wings shimmered, sending ripples of colour through the grove. The Miffins swayed, enchanted. Ella arrived next, carrying a basket of honey biscuits — which the Miffins immediately surrounded.
“Oh!” Ella giggled. “They’re hungry!” Chiara toddled in last, dragging a lace tablecloth she’d found somewhere (no one asked where). Her white wings glowed softly as she plopped herself right in the middle of the table. “Chiara,” Adeline whispered, “that’s not a seat.”
Chiara blinked, smiled sweetly… and stayed exactly where she was. The tea party became a whirl of laughter, crumbs, music, and glowing wings. Adeline poured tea for everyone — even the Miffins, who slurped happily from tiny acorn caps. But then—
A sudden gust of wind swept through the grove, scattering petals and rattling teacups. The Miffins squeaked in alarm. Pixie’s music faltered.
Chiara clung to the tablecloth. Adeline stood tall, wings glowing brighter and brighter until they formed a perfect ring of calming light. “Don’t worry,” she said softly. “It’s only the wind. And we’re together.”
As the sun dipped low, Elder Thistlethorn appeared at the edge of the grove, eyes twinkling.
“A tea party that welcomes the marsh itself,” he said warmly. “Adeline Teawing, you have a gift for bringing joy where it’s needed most.”
Adeline blushed. “I just wanted everyone to feel happy.” “And they do,” he replied. “Because your heart is as warm as your tea.”
Adeline lifted her cup proudly.

“Then tomorrow,” she declared, “we’ll have a lantern‑light tea party!”
Pixie groaned playfully. “Should we warn the marsh?” Adeline giggled. “No. They’ll hear the music.” And as the lanterns flickered awake above them, the grove glowed with the gentle magic only Adeline could brew — a magic made of tea, laughter, and the kind of joy that spreads like sunlight.
